The Bobcats come into Phillips arena tonight as the hottest team in the NBA winners of 6 games in a row and 9 of their last 10. They just went 6-0 on a home stand and completely destroyed Miami in their last game to take over 5th place in the Eastern Conference. The last time these two teams met, the Hawks were coming off a long road trip and had to fly straight from Sacramento to Charlotte and play on a back to back. Much has changed since then as the Bobcats have traded for Stephen Jackson and have been playing excellent basketball of late.

There is plenty not to like about Larry Brown. It seems late in his career he is never satisfied but he is an excellent championship caliber coach. He has his Bobcats playing excellent defense and they have always seemed to give the Hawks a tough time even when they weren’t playing their best against the rest of the NBA. Hawks come in a little banged up with nagging injuries. Joe Johnson has a sore foot, Josh Smith has a sore quad, and Joe Smith didn’t practice yesterday due to illness. All are expected to play tonight though.
