The Bucks come into this game red hot winners of six in a row and have positioned themselves currently in the seventh spot in the Eastern Conference. The John Salmons trade has reaped big returns for the Bucks as he has stabilized the shooting guard spot in their starting lineup. This will be my first look at Brandon Jennings whose play has slowed of late but is still in the discussion for rookie of the year.
I don’t want to put too much meaning on a February game against the Bucks for the Hawks but [...]

It has widely been rumored that Hawks owner Michael Gearon Jr keeps tabs on what is being said about his Hawks on message boards and blogs. Perhaps this statement is a direct answer to the Hawks blogosphere’s doubts that any offer would be competitive. While the content of that offer still remains to be seen it is still widely thought that Ilgauskas will return to Cleveland no matter what.

A lot has been made of the collision in last night’s game between Hawks head coach Mike Woodson and Mavericks point guard Jason Kidd. While it did play an impact in the outcome of the game I will revisit it later in the recap.
Once again the Hawks came out like the Atlanta fans, sluggishly trailing by ten after the first period only to come roaring back in the second to tie the game at fifty going into the half. The Hawks then seized control of the game during the third quarter outscoring the Mavs by eleven a lead which eventually [...]

I am not capable of a full fledged recap at this moment as I am still trying to figure out what I saw in this game. The Hawks played outstanding basketball for most of the game and as the trend has been collapsed late. The game was marred by one of the most bizarre incidents that I have ever seen. First with the Mavericks on a big run Mike Woodson refused to call a time out as the Hawks lead went from I believe eleven up to one down.
The incident however occurred when Woodson ventured onto the court to give [...]

Is this a big game? The Dallas Mavericks roll into Philips Arena tonight to take on the Hawks in an ESPN made for TV special. The Mavericks come in winners of five games in a row. The Hawks defeated the Mavericks in Dallas early in the season but the Mavericks are a much different team now. Gone are Josh Howard, Drew Gooden, and bench players James Singleton and Quinton Ross. In their place now are former Washington Wizards Caron Butler, Brendan Haywood, and DeShawn Stevenson. That is three Wizards that have been in the starting lineup on many nights so [...]

Looks like Zydrunas Ilgauskas is very close than to securing his buyout from the Washington Wizards clearing the way for him to sign with another team or wait the 30 days and resign with the Cleveland Cavaliers.
All indications coming out of Atlanta are is that the team is very interested and Ilgauskas’ agent says the Hawks will be considered once a buy out occurs. Ilgauskas would make sense for the Hawks. He is another big, a legit seven footer with a great shooting touch. He has lost a ton of mobility but he would bring in veteran presence that has [...]

The Hawks return home to face the Minnesota Timberwolves after finishing up a 2-2 road trip. The T-Wolves come into the game fresh off a victory over Miami minus Dwayne Wade who is still sitting out due to injury. The Home environment should energize the Hawks since they have not played at home since before the All Star Break. Atlanta will be looking to extend its winning streak over the T-Wolves to eight games having last defeated them earlier this season 112-87 in Minnesota.
One of the things I will be looking for in tonight’s game is Minnesota’s adaptation of the [...]

The Hawks bounced back last night defeating the Utah Jazz 105-100. The win was the Hawks first in Utah since 1993. Utah was missing the services of All Star Deron Williams and Andrei Kirilenko. Still after the debacle that was Friday night’s game, the Hawks needed a victory and needed badly no matter who was playing. The win enabled them to finish 2-2 on the trip and makes us think of what might have been had we been able to finish off the Warriors.
All was not perfect in this game. The Hawks got off to a fast start running themselves [...]

I haven’t been this disgusted after a game since the Nate Robinson explosion at Phillips earlier this season. After that game the coaching staff, Mike Woodson in particular, drew my fire for not making any adjustments and by doing what I thought was equal to not trying to win. After taking about 10 hours to collect my thoughts I am disgusted with the entire team this time around. Coaching staff to All Star Player, To role player, to bench warmer. Everyone is accountable for this mess of a game last night.
There will be some people out there that will say [...]
