The Hawks look to close out the first half of the NBA season tonight as Dwayne Wade and the Miami Heat come to Phillips Arena. Both teams are coming off of victories last night, The Heat defeated the Rockets in Miami, and the Hawks beat the Grizzlies in Memphis.
The Heat come in struggling despite last night’s victory over the Rockets. Prior to last night they had lost their previous five game and have sunk to the 8th spot in the Eastern Conference Standings. Those struggles even set off a little fire storm when All Star Dwayne Wade pointed the finger at coach Eric Spoelstra saying that the Heat were to predictable in what they were doing on the court. Controversy aside, anytime your team has Dwayne Wade then you have a chance. I don’t care who you are playing.
This will renew the rivalry of last seasons first round play off match up. True to form the home team has won all of this season’s match ups. The Heat particularly have had a hard time on the 2nd night of back to backs. I don’t look for it to be too much of an advantage either way due to neither groups key players playing heavy minutes last night due to both teams winning rather handedly.
Should be a good match up and a victory would be a very nice way to close out the first half of the season and head into the all star break. I along with a few other Hawks bloggers will be in attendance tonight and will be tweeting my thoughts on twitter from the game.
