There is no rest for the weary on the road in the NBA. After the Hawks loss gift to the Warriors they now roll into the final stop of their road trip in Utah who just happen to be the hottest team in the NBA. So much for making things easy. The Hawks need this game now just to salvage a 2-2 road trip and to push their road record overall back to the .500 mark.

It is interesting that the Hawks next opponent would be Utah given the salvo I fired off at the Coaching Staff in my recap of the Warriors game. Jerry Sloan in my opinion doesn’t get enough credit. I was a person who thought that after the retirement of John Stockton and Karl Malone that he would drift off into obscurity. He has proven time and again that he knows what it takes to build a winner and keep it a winner. That is what I would like to feel from a Hawks coaching staff once again.

Still being miffed from last night’s game I am not going to predict what we might try tonight. I am hoping that Michael Cunningham will report later that there was another closed door players only meeting because there needs to be some air cleared. I don’t know what is going on but the players need to take it upon themselves to figure it out and get it corrected.

The Hawks actually blew out the Jazz 96-83 in a game that wasn’t as close as the score at Phillips Arena but have lost 15 straight games in Utah. That victory right now seems like it was a long time ago.
