Weekly Record: 1-2
Season Record: 34-20 two and a half games behind the Orlando Magic in the Southeast Division.
Conference Standing: Currently 4th in the Eastern Conference.
Game Results from the Week:
Hawks 110 Clippers 92
Suns 88 Hawks 80
Warriors 108 Hawks 104
The week began with discussion of the All Star Break and how the Eastern Conference team including Joe Johnson and Al Horford pulled out a 141-139 victory over the West. Joe Johnson scored 10 in the game and Horford added 8. The Hawks got back to work on Wednesday night and beat up on an undermanned Clippers team who were without the newly traded Marcus Camby and an injured Baron Davis. The Hawks went on to capture a 110-92 victory.
The trade deadline came and went on Thursday without the Hawks expectantly remaining silent. Another surprise however was the fact that Amare Stoudamire was still a part of the Phoenix Suns when the Hawks traveled to Phoenix on Friday. The Suns weren’t thinking about the visiting team come away with a victory and turned the Hawks away 88-80.
On Sunday night the Hawks continued their road trip traveling to Oakland to take on the Warriors. See my recap rant on that game here.

Player of the Week
Al Horford really should be the player of the week every week. That this is the first time I have named him player of the week probably speaks volumes as to the validity of my award. As always Horford had an outstanding despite seeing only limited opportunities. He started the week off playing in his first All Star game, set a career high in points (31) against the Clippers on Wed, and had another outstanding game on Sunday scoring 26 and grabbing 11 rebounds despite hardly being involved in the last period of the game against the Warriors. Al should be an inspiration to every Hawk player with his hard hat mentality of coming to work day in and day out and performing his job at the highest level.
