Mike Woodson wants you…………..
Source: YardBarker.com Surprise! Mike Woodson wants you to attend Hawks games and actually cheer for the home team. You know what? He is right. Atlanta fans should embrace this team during the regular season and not just in the playoffs. Per a Michael Cunningham article on AJC.com : “It shouldn’t be that way,” “There [are] enough people in this city to support the Hawks. I think we are a fun team to watch. We’ve grown definitely over the years, from the time we started to where we are today. – Hawks Coach Mike Woodson Tonight’s game is a perfect example as [...]
Examining Mike Woodson
Source: YardBarker.com Any discussion pertaining to the Atlanta Hawks and their successes or failures will ultimately end up in a conversation about head coach Mike Woodson. To say that the coaching profession is tough would be an understatement. Coaching at the games highest level could be a nightmare. Are the complaints and concerns of thousands of Hawk fans deserved? Or does it just go with the territory? Following the Hawks day in and day out gives you the opportunity to second guess a lot of things. I have done so and will continue to do so. Its part of being a fan, and [...]
Atlanta Hawks (94) Indiana Pacers (84) Game Recap
Well it wasn’t pretty but a win always looks better than a loss. This game started much the way the Philadelphia game ended. The Hawks allowing their opponent to get whatever shot they wanted uncontested. During the first quarter the Pacers shot 57% from the field and were 6-9 from three point range. The Hawks repeatedly chased Indiana shooters under screens and blew defensive rotations on their way to spotting the Pacers a 31-26 lead at the end of the quarter.

Horford sibling commits to play at Michigan
Al Horford’s younger brother Jon Horford has committed to play for John Beilein at the University of Michigan. The younger Horford played his high school ball at Grand Ledge in Michigan. The 6’9″ 185 pound post player is rated a three star recruit by rivals.com. Michigan’s rivals site TheWolverine.com had this to say about Horford: At 6-9, Horford, a Rivals.com three-star prospect nationally, was dominant on the defensive end and a workhorse on both ends. He does most of his scoring in the paint, boasting good footwork and great hands and very good passing ability from the post. He’s not [...]
Philadelphia 76ers (105) Atlanta Hawks (98) Game Recap
If a less than casual fan had tuned into this game they would have thought that the Sixers were the team playing for playoff positioning and the Hawks were the team playing the season out. Rather than recapping this game the traditional way here are some bulleted points of offensive ineptitude: I would guess that maybe 3 of Jamal Crawford’s 13 shots were good shots where he was open. Josh Smith repeatedly backing down Jason Smith and scoring two times in a row and then with the Hawks trying to exploit the match up settling for a contested jump shot. [...]

Atlanta Hawks News and Notes
Drew over at Peachtree Hoops posted a great article about the Hawks defensive inconsistency and how it is one of the biggest problem that the Hawks face moving into the playoffs. The real white elephant is the defense. The Hawks cannot stop enough people to make a comeback. The Charlotte game, one of the two exceptions, saw Atlanta hold the Bobcats to 15 points. That needs to happen far more often than it does. Since the all-star break, the Hawks are giving up 25.4 points a game in the fourth. In those 19 games, Atlanta has scored more than 25 [...]
