Atlanta Hawks (38-21) Philadelphia 76ers (22-37) Game Preview

The story line for tonight’s Hawks and Sixers game will be of the announcement that Sixer’s Guard Allen Iverson will not return to the team this season. The announcement ends a turbulent season for Iverson full of highs and lows. The low being released by the Memphis Grizzlies and the High being elected to start the NBA All Star Game by the fans. I have always respected Iverson’s game but that is where my admiration ends. His handling of the situation in Memphis will forever tarnish his legacy with me. In his prime he was a warrior so if this is the end I wish him the best.

The Sixers are really an enigma of a team. They have some really nice pieces but they just don’t seem to work well together. After much trade speculation the Sixers stood pat with what they have. The problem they have is they are saddled with some really bad contracts and don’t have the flexibility to make any moves. I think they really underestimated what Andre Miller meant to the team.

Following tonight’s game the Hawks play again on Friday at home against the Golden State Warriors before heading back out on the road for two more games.
