Game Thoughts
The Hawks face off against the Spurs tonight at Phillips Arena. The Spurs come into the game fresh off of an out of character win 147-116 win over the Golden State Warriors. The Spurs despite being without Tony Parker (Hand) have been playing well winners in eight of their last ten games. The Spurs are probably safe in the Western Conference playoff picture but are playing for positioning. Currently they are in the seventh spot but are only a half game in front of the Portland Trailblazers. The Spurs want to try and avoid the Lakers in the first round.
The Hawks are fresh off an overtime victory over the Bobcats 93-92. The currently set in the fourth spot in the Eastern Conference on half game behind the Boston Celtics. If the playoffs began today then the Hawks would be facing the Milwaukee Bucks which is one of the hottest teams in the NBA. On an injury front the Hawks Josh Smith and Mike Bibby missed practice on Saturday. Smith has a sore hip from getting banged hard on a screen during the Bobcats game. Bibby was kneed in the thigh early in that game. Both are expected to play on Sunday night.
