The Hawks have parted ways with Mike Woodson. Official announcement will come this afternoon.

So it appears that Mike Woodson’s tenure in Atlanta has in fact come to an end. We will have more on this tonight as info comes in.

*12:30 Update: Beat writer Michael Cunningham is now confirming that Mike Woodson was told in a meeting this morning that the team would not be offering him a new contract.

I am with you. Respect what Woodson did but it was time to move on.

This was a necessary move if the team was going to have any chance of going beyond its second round ceiling in the next few years.
