Josh Powell Speaks Out (Kinda…)

by 2011 NBA Playoffs

No, Josh Powell did not start trash-talking about the Magic. He didn’t vent about playing time, and nor did he criticize his teammates. It’s just a cool quote from the Atlanta Hawks Whisperer:

“Sometimes actions speak louder than words..when everybody counts you out, there are times when you have to step up and shock the world…”

That’s the status he put up on his Facebook Page that he runs for his fans. There’s a possibility this might have nothing to do with the Hawks/Magic series, but I really doubt that. “Shock The World” has been a phrase the Hawks have been familiar with since 2008.

Now, Josh Powell didn’t do that great in Game 1, mostly because he was asked to guard Dwight Howard, but give him E for effort. And we may never see Josh Powell ever slow down or stop Dwight Howard, but we can always count on him being a professional, being a good teammate, and a breath of fresh (positive) air. He’s just a likeable guy and quotes like these are reasons why.

Hopefully the Hawks’ actions’ speak louder than words and again become successful and win a game that (almost) everyone will have them losing tomorrow. Let’s hope the Hawks can shock the world again and beat the Magic in Game 2 tomorrow.

Lastly, according to our Radio legend, Steve Holman, the Hawks were still focused yesterday during practice. Also, Alex Kennedy of HOOPSWORLD (who covers the Magic) tweeted that Teague had something to say to a fan after the game.
