Blog Update & Thanks/Shoutouts To Some Special People

AUTHOR: | IN: Hawks, Site Announcements | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

Hey guys, guess what? My blogging hiatus has officially ended today. It only lasted 2 weeks*, but I can’t complain. *Can you believe the Hawks have only been out of the playoffs for two weeks? It feels like a whole month to me. I miss it already… I’m not going to lie, it was nice having a little break from blogging. Some may know this already, but the players aren’t the only ones that can become exhausted, bloggers can get exhausted too! Bloggers can get mentally and physically exhausted. Mentally exhausted by closely examining every game and every player and [...]

Bulls vs. Hawks Game 6 Recap: Not The Ending Anyone Wanted…

AUTHOR: | IN: Game Recap | COMMENTS: None Yet

That could have ended a lot better…. Coming into Game Six, I felt pretty confident that the Hawks would come in with a lot of energy and good execution and extend the series to 7 games. That obviously didn’t happen. I felt the energy at the beginning was there, but the execution on either end of the floor was missing. In the offensive end, it was just bad shots and slow ball movement, and in the defensive end, they allowed Chicago to penetrate and get open looks in the basket or in the perimeter. I know that the Hawks weren’t [...]

ATL Hawks vs. CHI Bulls Game 5 Recap: Everything You Need To Know

AUTHOR: | IN: 2011 NBA Playoffs | COMMENTS: None Yet

You’ve got to call a foul sometime… Let me vent here a little bit. That 2nd half was ridiculous. This might be the Hawks fan in me talking, but I felt the referees played too big of a part in the result of the game. There were just too many questionable calls not favoring the Hawks way.  I just —–let’s stop. Anyway, even if the calls went the Hawks way in that 2nd half, it probably wouldn’t have changed the outcome of the game. The Hawks played solid basketball in the first three quarters. The 4th quarter? Horrendous. The offense [...]

Tweets of the Game: Atlanta Hawks vs. Chicago Bulls Game 5

AUTHOR: | IN: 2011 NBA Playoffs | COMMENTS: None Yet

Twitter was going through puberty tonight (lots of glitches), so not a lot of people tweeted. Or maybe no one tweeted because no one cares about this series…..we’ll just go with the Twitter glitches theory. Here are some tweets that I liked that will help summarize how this game turned out…. Pre-Game Tweets: @hawksvoice: Winner of 1Q of gone on to win each of the first four games in series. #setthetoneearly @jeskeets: Surprised to see that the Bulls are favored by -8.5 tonight. @TakeoSpikes51: I don’t like how the #BULLS act like the reason we won is because of what they didn’t [...]

It’s Not Time To Panic, But The Hawks Are “Soaring Down South” Quickly…

AUTHOR: | IN: Hawks | COMMENTS: None Yet

Oh, how the wheels have turned in a matter of few days. Last Tuesday morning, things were swell for the Hawks. Not only were they coming off a recent and surprising first round series win against the Orlando Magic, they also beat the Chicago Bulls the day before. It started to look like this is a different Atlanta Hawks team. A different better Hawks team. However, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday came and lo and behold, the team that people were once praising is now causing people (Hawks fans in particular) to panic. Trade advices are back, “blow the roster [...]

Josh Smith, The Hawks Won’t Win Series Without You.

AUTHOR: | IN: 2011 NBA Playoffs, Analysis | COMMENTS: None Yet

Josh Smith hasn’t had a good second round series vs. the Chicago Bulls. In game one, Josh Smith didn’t help the team, scoring only 8 points, grabbing only 8 rebounds, and shooting 3 for 11 from the field (27%). If it wasn’t for Joe Johnson having a huge offensive game that night, the Hawks would have lost. In game two, Josh Smith once again hurt the team more than he helped the team, finishing with 13 points and 6 rebounds while shooting 4 for 13 from the field (29%). This time, there was no one there to answer Josh Smith’s [...]
