Atlanta Hawks forward Ivan Johnson was named the NBA Eastern Conference Rookie of the Month during the stretch of games played in April.
The Cal State San Bernardino standout led all first-year pro’s in steals (1.45 per game) and shooting percentage (58.2%) and averaged 11 points along with six rebounds per game.
Johnson reached double-figures six times this month including a career-high 21 points in a blowout 109-87 victory over the Raptors back on April 16. He is averaging 6.4 ppg for the season.
In Atlanta’s previous game, they destroyed Dallas ‘N’ the Dirks 106-89 as Johnson led the Hawks bench with 10 points, six boards, two steals, and one blocked shot.
Kenneth Faried of the Denver Nuggets was named the NBA Western Conference Rookie of the Month as well.
