Free agent Anthony Randolph will meet with the Atlanta Hawks and Dallas Mavericks this weekend, according to Marc Spears of Yahoo! Sports.
The 6’11” forward had a lot of built up hype going into the 2008 NBA draft but has yet to flourish the way most people thought he would by now.
New Hawks President of Basketball Operations and General Manager Danny Ferry has been hard at work in his first two weeks on the job, completing two blockbuster trades, sending Joe Johnson to the Brooklyn Nets for five players and a future first round draft pick, as well as shipping Marvin Williams to the Utah Jazz in exchange for guard Devin Harris.
If Ferry does indeed sign Randolph, he would provide nice depth at the power forward position behind Josh Smith and be an instant upgrade from last season big’s, off the bench, Jason Collins and Erick Dampier.
