Sam Amick of SI.com notes free agent center Kyrylo Fesenko will work out for the San Antonio Spurs next week. Other teams interested in the 7-foot-1, 280-pound big man are the Cleveland Cavaliers, Miami Heat and Atlanta Hawks.
Atlanta is seriously lacking size in the front court and bringing in a guy of Fesenko’s stature would certainly help bolster a young core in Josh Smith, Al Horford and Zaza Pachulia.
In his five years of NBA experience, Fesenko has proved to be an above average defender however, he lacks significant skills on the offensive side of the ball. The 25-year old has career averages of 2.3 points and 2 rebounds per game.
After Fesenko visits San Antonio, he will work out for Cleveland “soon thereafter” reports Amick.
