Nando De Colo buried a 3-pointer with 0.6 seconds remaining to help boost the San Antonio Spurs to a 101-99 victory over the Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday night.

Josh Powell led all scorers with 14 points as the Spurs had 6 players in double figures on the night (Powell 14; Neal 12; De Colo 11; Curry 11; Brown 10; Jackson 10) . The Hawks, led by both Mike Scott and Damion James with 11 points, had 5 players in double figures (Scott 11; James 11; Teague 10; Williams 10; Benson 10). Scott’s 11 points came in an impressive 13 minutes as he was the pleasant surprise of the night, playing efficiently and effectively while connecting on 5-8 field goals in his preseason debut. First round pick and fellow rookie John Jenkins also debuted his first preseason with an impressive outing, scoring 9 points on 3-5 shooting from beyond the arc.

Damion James, who struggled in Atlanta’s preseason opener against the Miami Heat, played well on Wednesday night, scoring 11 points, grabbing 8 rebounds, and dishing out 4 assists. His well-balanced effort likely gives him the inside track to one of the two remaining roster spots for the upcoming season.

The Hawks are now 1-1 after 2 preseason games and next play the Memphis Grizzlies on Sunday night.
