Atlanta Hawks waive Carldell Johnson

The Atlanta Hawks have trimmed their roster down to 16 players after releasing point guard Carldell Johnson on Wednesday, according to Peachtreehoops.com.

Johnson’s release was correctly predicted one week ago by Soaring Down South following the releases of Keith Benson and Isma’il Muhammad from the Hawks on Oct. 11.

In all honesty though, given Atlanta’s current back court situation with Jeff Teague, Devin Harris and Lou Williams, the release of Johnson was inevitable.

Now with just one more cut to make, the final spot on the Hawks roster is between three candidates: Damion James and James Anderson.
