Atlanta Hawks forward Josh Smith won’t play in Sunday night’s game against the Oklahoma City Thunder because of a right ankle sprain, reports the AP.
Smith supposedly got injured yesterday during the Houston Rocket game, but there was no indication of the issue during or after the contest. Smith will stay back in Atlanta instead of traveling with the team to OKC.
Backup big man Johan Petro is also ruled out for Sunday’s matchup with a lower back injury. Petro was sidelined for the home opener against Houston because of the same back ailment.
