Current Records/Streak & Hot, Lukewarm, or Cold:
Records: Indiana Pacers (2-2) … Atlanta Hawks (0-0)
Streak: Indiana Pacers –> OVERALL: Lost 1 / HOME: Won 1 / ROAD: Lost 1 … Atlanta Hawks –> OVERALL: Won 1 / HOME: Lost 1 / ROAD: Won 1
Away/Home Records: Indiana is (1-2) on the road this season & Atlanta Hawks are (0-1) at home this season.
Indiana Pacers: Cold. After starting off the season with a nail-biting win over the Raptors, the Pacers lost to the Bobcats, beat the Kings, and were then embarrassed by the Spurs. As if going 1-2 in their last 3 games (with one of those losses being to the team that just last season broke the record for worst winning percentage) wasn’t bad enough, they’ve lost Danny Granger indefinitely (estimated time of 3 months).
Atlanta Hawks: Hot. The Hawks went into Oklahoma City, the toughest place in the league to play, and pulled out a victory over KD and co without Josh Smith. With Smith back, Atlanta has a full and healthy roster matched up against a struggling Indiana team. This is one Atlanta needs to win.
Season/Past Season Series Notes:
Tonight is the first of 4 games between the Pacers, the later 3 coming in December, February, and March.
Last season the Hawks played the Pacers 3 times and went 2-1 in those games.
Last Matchup: (03/06/12) Hawks 101, Pacers 96 — Bankers Life Fieldhouse (Indianapolis, Indiana)
Josh Smith scored 27 points and pulled in 9 rebounds as the Hawks squeaked out a 5-point victory in Indiana. The Hawks were without all-star shooting guard Joe Johnson and received a boost from Jeff Teague, who scored 9 points and passed for 9 assists. Indiana was led by David West’s 24 points and Danny Grangers 19 points and 8 rebounds, but Atlanta held off several Pacer runs throughout the game to ensure a victory and a 2-1 win in the season series.
