Current Records/Streak & Hot, Lukewarm, or Cold
Records: Atlanta Hawks (16-9) … Detroit Pistons (9-21)
Streak: Atlanta Hawks –> OVERALL: Won 1 / HOME: Won 1 / ROAD: Lost 1 … Detroit Pistons –> OVERALL: Won 2 / HOME: Won 1 / ROAD: Won 1
Home/Away Records: Hawks are (9-5) at home … Pistons are (3-13) on the road.
Atlanta Hawks: Lukewarm. Atlanta clobbered Chicago by 17 points on Saturday but lost 3 of their last 4 entering Saturday’s matchup against the Bulls. Hopefully the Hawks are now back to their winning ways.
Detroit Pistons: Cold. The Pistons are riding a season-high two-game win streak (!) but both of those wins came against the Washington Wizards, currently on a seven-game losing streak of their own and probably the only team in the NBA bad enough to get swept by Detroit in back-to-back games.
Season/Past Season Series
Detroit visit Philips Arena for the only time this year in the first-of-three games with the Hawks. Atlanta heads to the Motor City on 1/4 and 2/25 to closeout the season series. The Hawks took last year’s series 3-1, including the final two meetings. Atlanta has won eight straight home games against the Pistons with Detroit’s last win at Philips Arena coming on 2/12/08 (94-90). The Hawks lead the all-time series 167-159 (73-77 in home games).
