The Atlanta Hawks trail the Pistons in Detroit 51-36 at halftime.
In just 12 minutes of action, Austin Daye has already matched his season-high of 16 points as he leads all scorers at the half. Daye made his first six attempts before going into the locker room 7-of-8 from the field.
The Pistons led the Hawks 25-20 after the first quarter. All of Atlanta’s points were scored by the duo of Josh Smith (12) and Al Horford (8).
Horford has been the only consistent player for Atlanta thus far, already posting a double-double performance of 10 points and 10 rebounds. Smith leads the Hawks with 14 points on 6-of-14 shooting. Lou Williams (5), Ivan Johnson (5) and Jeff Teague (2) are the only other Hawks to score.
Atlanta has been getting killed inside the key as 26 of Detroit’s first 31 points were scored in the paint.
