Atlanta Hawks sharp shooter Kyle Korver has passed Dell Curry to become the 34th all-time leader in 3-point field-goals made with 1,248 in his NBA career.
Korver went into Wednesday’s game against the Toronto Raptors with 1,243 career makes from behind the perimeter and drained five-of-nine attempts in the 93-92 win to bump him in front of the former Charlotte Hornet great who has 1,245 all-time 3-point makes. Dell Curry is the father of current Golden State Warrior sharp shooter Stephen Curry and Duke University guard Seth Curry.
Korver has been lighting it up from 3-point land this season and currently ranks as the #1 perimeter shooter in the NBA as he’s shooting a league-best .471 from downtown. He also ranks third in 3-pointers made per game (2.9) and fourth in 3-pointers made overall (114).
Just last week, Korver set a new franchise record with eight 3FGM in the second half as the Hawks came back from 27 down to turn out a miraculous 123-111 2OT win at home against the hated Boston Celtics.
Korver needs five trey’s to tie Clifford Robinson (33rd with 1,253) and eight to equal Vernon Maxwell (32nd with 1,256) on the NBA’s all-time 3FGM list.
