All five starters scored in double-figures and all 13 available players got to play in the game as the Atlanta Hawks pounded the Phoenix Suns 107-94 at home in Philips Arena on Friday night.
It was a well-balanced display of teamwork as Josh Smith made his way back from missing last game with a sprained knee to lead the Hawks in points (17), rebounds (11), assists (7), steals (3) and blocks (1). Al Horford added a double-double with 16 points and 11 boards. Kyle Korver dropped 16 points and drained four-of-five 3-point attempts. Devin Harris made his second straight fill-in start for Jeff Teague and turned out a nice game with 15 points, five assists, four rebounds and three steals. DeShawn Stevenson had a quality night finishing with 12 points, two assists, two boards, two steals and one blocked shot. Teague came off the bench and finished with eight points, four assists and two steals in 23 minutes of action.
Goran Dragic paced Phoenix with 21 points and eight assists. Veteran Jermaine O’Neal had 18 points and five rebounds. Markieff Morris went off for 15 points and 11 boards. Wing starters Marcus Morris and Wes Johnson struggled in the game combining for 10 points on 5-of-17 shooting. Michael Beasley added 10 points off the bench.
