Smith will all but certainly wait for Howard, his best friend, to announce his decision before making a choice himself.
Dwight was reportedly supposed to announce his decision by sometime today, but of course there’s no certainty of that coming to fruition.
From what I'm told by someone privy to Dwight Howard's plans, a Friday decision will be announced without a question from Jim Gray

There were rumors that the Rockets, who are believed to be the front runner for D12, are also in play for acquiring J-Smoove via sign-and-trade in hopes of pairing up the former AAU teammates in Houston.
Earlier this week, it was reported the Detroit Pistons view signing Smith as their “top priority” in free agency and have reached out with a “substantial four-year offer.”
There’s no doubt Josh will take some time to weigh all the options before making the biggest decision of his life.
Smith spent his entire nine-year career with his hometown Hawks.
He averaged 17.5 points, 8.4 rebounds and 4.2 assists per game last season.
