Ivan the Terrible is a scary man.
What’s even scarier is the idea that he may be playing in another uniform next season.
AJC’s Chris Vivlamore reports that the Hawks are hoping to bring the gritty forward back to the ATL:
I’m told the Hawks are still showing interest in bringing back Ivan Johnson despite Paul Millsap signing. #ATLHawks

With the signings of both Paul Millsap and Elton Brand, minutes at the power forward position will be hard to come by. Mike Scott has shown in this year’s Summer League that he deserves some time, so what does Danny Ferry do with Ivan?
Johnson averaged 15.7 points and 9.3 rebounds, per 36 minutes last season. His hustle and straight “thug-itude” also strikes fear into opposing big men.
Certainly a fan favorite, Ivan leaving the ATL would leave some fans heartbroken.
It’s all about money and flexibility, so we’ll have to see how Ferry plays this difficult hand he’s been dealt.
