The 2013-14 NBA season is just two short months away.

The Atlanta Hawks enter the new campaign as one of the most intriguing teams due to this summer’s complete roster overhaul. The face of the franchise Josh Smith is gone, so are fan favorites Zaza Pachulia and Ivan Johnson, along with key role players Devin Harris and DeShawn Stevenson.

But with destruction comes rebirth.

The Hawks retooled and bolstered their frontcourt with the acquisitions of big men Paul MillsapElton BrandPero Antić, and Gustavo Ayon, as well as addressed crucial future needs via the draft by selecting 7-foot shot-blocking Brazilian center Lucas Nogueria and German point guard sensation Dennis Schröder with back-to-back picks in the first round.

Add in a new first-time head coach, a new team leader, and new expectations and you have a recipie for a very exciting season.

With that being said, let’s take a look at the top 5 things Hawks fans will witness in 2013-14…
