As first reported by the Atlanta Journal Constitution, the Atlanta Hawks have announced that they will spend the first three days of training camp at the campus of the University of Georgia in Athens (Oct 1-3).

This is first time that the Hawks will be away from Atlanta for training camp since 2005. Coach Budenholzer said the experience will be good for the team as they start to build chemistry.

Being in Athens to start camp will provide us a great opportunity to focus on building team chemistry, and developing the unselfish and hard-working mentality that will be central to how we compete every night.”

This should be an interesting time for the Hawks, as they have almost a completely new roster, and will trying to implement a new system under coach Bud. Media Day will be on September 30th in Atlanta, and I will be bringing you all the latest from Philips Arena. Stay tuned here at Soaring Down South for the latest on the Hawks.
