According to Chris Vivlamore of the AJC, former Atlanta Hawk Royal Ivey has an invite to join the Hawks for training camp:
Former Hawks draft pick Royal Ivey will be in training camp as a non-roster invitee.
Ivey, a second-round selection in 2004, played for the Hawks for three seasons. He appeared in 188 games and averaged 3.4 points and 1.2 assists in 12.4 minutes.
As he pointed out, Ivey was drafted by the Hawks in 2004. Ivey is a backup guard, and with Teague, Schröder, Jenkins, Lou Williams, and Korver all seeing time at guard, he won’t likely make the team. There are always players who will be in camp for practice, and they won’t ever play for the team. The Hawks need more depth at small forward, so don’t expect much.
