The final day of Atlanta Hawks training camp in Athens at the University of Georgia has come to an end, and the team now heads back to Atlanta where they will host an open practice over the weekend.
All 20 players participated in drills throughout training camp, although combo guard Lou Williams did not take part in five-on-five drills or scrimmages and continues to rehab from his ACL injury, reports Hawks beat writer Chris Vivlamore.
Thankfully, there were no injuries for Viv to report on the final day in Athens. Mike Scott did “tweak” his ankle Tuesday on the first day or training camp, but it was nothing series and he practiced the following days.
The Hawks boarded a bus after practice Thursday to return to Atlanta. The team will be off Friday. Then, will meet up Saturday for an open practice.
“Coach Mike Budenholzer said it will be primarily a scrimmage,” Vivlamore added. “The players will warm up and then take to the court in a game. It should give fans an early opportunity to see lineups and rotations.”
The practice is free to the public. Doors open at 4:00 p.m. for the 5:00 p.m. start.
