Atlanta Hawks To Appear at Local Area High School Football Games

Friday nights for high school football players means another chance to suit up and entertain their friends and families. However, this Friday, October 18th, a few local Atlanta high school football teams will have some special guests to play in front of as well.

The Atlanta Hawks will be appearing at two football games in the Atlanta area on Friday night. This is a rare opportunity for Hawks fans to meet their favorite players as they continue to ready themselves for the upcoming season. The players, along with the coaches, cheerleaders and even mascot Harry the Hawk, will be split up at the local games to support the teams and athletes that take the field for their local communities.

Coach Mike Budenholzer will be alongside Al Horford and Paul Millsap on the campus of Chattahoochee High as they take on Alpharetta. The players will be “Pinked Out” for the football game as Chattahoochee High School is holding a fundraiser for Northside Hospital Breast Care Center in support of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The game starts at 7:30 PM and other Hawks teammates Gustavo Ayón, Jared Cunningham, Royal Ivey, John Jenkins and Dennis Schröder will also be in attendance.

Meanwhile, Jeff Teague, Lou Williams, Pero Antić, Elton Brand, DeMarre Carroll, Eric Dawson, James Johnson, Shelvin Mack and Mike Scott will be representing the Hawks at Stephenson High School’s home game against Miller Grove. That game will start at 8 PM at Hallford Stadium. It is unknown if new roster addition Cartier Martin will be in attendance at either of the games, but it is certainly a possibility.

As for NBA hoops, the Hawks will have their preseason home opener against the San Antonio Spurs tonight.

Following Friday’s local HS appearances by the team, they’ll have three remaining preseason games before they begin the regular-season on October 30th in Dallas.
