Game Preview

Basketball is back baby!

The Atlanta Hawks tip-off the 2013-14 NBA season in Dallas against the Mavericks tonight at 8:30 p.m. (ET).

Atlanta comes into the season with a drastically different roster than last year. Native son Josh Smith is gone and now in Detroit; fan favorite Zaza Pachulia followed former head coach Larry Drew to Milwaukee; new additions Paul Millsap and DeMarre Carroll were imported from Utah; but thankfully Al Horford and Jeff Teague remain a constant. The Hawks also re-signed sharpshooter Kyle Korver to keep some sort of consistency in the lineup.

Dallas also comes into the season with a couple of new pieces as they revamped their backcourt with free agents Jose Calderon and Monta Ellis, while Mavs mainstay Dirk Nowitzki enters his 16th season with the team.
