Lou Williams to sit out vs. Heat on Tuesday, will return vs. Pistons on Wednesday

Atlanta Hawks newly re-healed combo guard Lou Williams will sit out tonight’s game versus the Heat in Miami, but will return tomorrow night at home against the Detroit Pistons.

Williams returned to the court for the first time on Friday since tearing his ACL last season in January. He finished with seven points, three rebounds and two assists in 15 minutes of play, one minute shy of his cap limit set by coach Mike Budenholzer, in Atlanta’s 113-103 win in Philadelphia.

Coach Bud said Williams will not initially play in back-to-back games — he didn’t play in New York on Saturday after Friday night’s win in Philly.

Evidently Budenholzer is still sticking to that plan and would rather have Williams play at home against a struggling Detroit Pistons team tomorrow rather than tonight on the road against the defending champs. Smart guy.
