Dennis Schroder and John Jenkins made their first appearance for the Bakersfield Jam on Friday night. Both players started for the Jam in the 104-100 victory over the Los Angeles D-Fenders.
John Jenkins had a particularly good night in his debut as he put up 20 points on 6-of-11 shooting, including going one-of-three from long-range. He managed to get to the free-throw line often, making 7 of his 10 attempts, while also grabbing four rebounds along with one steal in 32 minutes of action.
Dennis Schröder’s debut had less positives as he shot 3-of-11 from the field. He did manage to tally six assists, but also had four turnovers.
As for the rest of the team, Mac Koshwal, a 6’10 Center from DePaul, led the Jam with 21 points on 9-of-13 shooting in addition to grabbing 10 rebounds. Brian Butch and James Nunnally also made starts for Bakerfield. Butch provided a double-double performance with 11 points and 14 rebounds. Nunnally scored 12 points in 37 minutes. Former Atlanta Hawks’ draft pick, Damion James, made his return to the Bakersfield Jam last night and provided 11 points off the bench.
Bakersfield will face the D-Fenders again tonight at 9:30 (ET) in Los Angeles and both Schröder and Jenkins are expected to play. The game will be broadcast, as with all D-League games, live on YouTube.
