According to reports from the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the Atlanta Hawks are set to sign forward James Nunnally to a 10-day contract.

Nunnally is a 6’7″, 205 lb small forward who has spent the entirety of the season in the Developmental League on the Bakersfield Jam, the D-League affiliate of the Atlanta Hawks.

He is averaging over 18 points, 4 assists, and 4 rebounds in over 33 minutes per game for the 2013-14 season.

A four-year player at UC Santa Barbara, Nunnally went undrafted in 2012.

Dakota Schmidt, of the D-League blog Ridiculous Upside, was gracious enough to give me a quick scouting report on James Nunnally:

Also, on Ridiculous Upside, Keith Schlosser has an interview with the recent call-up that is worth checking out.

After waiving Cartier Martin just days ago, it seemed obvious that the Hawks would look elsewhere for help at the small forward position.

This is the first 10-day contract handed out this season for Atlanta, and as a reminder, the same player can be given just two consecutive 10-day contracts until the team must either sign him for the remainder of the season or look elsewhere.
