1. Will NBA veteran Jalen Rose be out-coached by super fan Bill Simmons?
David Menze (Editor): Possibly. Half of the time it’s as if Bill Simmons has no idea what the hell he is talking about, however the same can be said for Jalen Rose. Although, Simmons did make a pretty smart move by trading for WNBA star Elena Delle Donne from Rose’s team in exchange for fellow WNBA star Skylar Diggins and 6 Lobster Tempura entrees. Not joking. Here’s the proof, and here. Simmons wants to win, Rose just wants lobster — a lot of lobster.
Ryan Donoho (Co-Editor): No. Simmons has looked like a fool when trying to talk about who he would have drafted if he was a GM, and I don’t see him being a much better coach. He also rubs some people the wrong way, so the celebs will be more likely to listen to Jalen Rose.
Wesley Morton (Senior Writer): He will not. Only one coach knows the rigors of the day-to-day grind, and that is Jalen Rose. Of course, these are just celebrities, but I think Bill Simmons makes a bit of a fool out of himself on live TV.
William Perry (Staff Writer): Oh, absolutely. I’m totally a believer in Bill Simmons as the next great NBA GM, which has been his dream for a while now. In watching Bill and Jalen’s All-Star Celebrity Game Preview I get the feeling that Simmons will be taking this event seriously while Jalen will just be out there to have a good time.
Aaron Blue (Staff Writer): I get the feeling he might. Bill Simmons’ basketball knowledge is certainly vast, however, player experience is something hard to come by, and Rose’s team will reap the benefits.
The NBA All-Star Celebrity Game will tip-off at 7 p.m. (ET) and be televised on ESPN. Click here for the complete list of celebrity participants.
