The NBA All-Star Weekend is known as a showcase of the biggest and brightest stars the National Basketball Association has to offer, but the same can be said for the musical guests that are featured every year. This year, the event is being held in New Orleans, and it already it looks like a star-studded event.
Jason Derulo and Aloe Blacc are the most recent invites to perform during All-Star Weekend 2014. They join a crowd that includes Mack Wilds, Pharrell Williams, Kendrick Lamar, Janelle Monae, Dr. John, Gary Clark Jr., Trombone Shorty and Earth, Wind & Fire. With some of the biggest names in pop, rap, rock and R&B performing, it is sure to be a fun weekend for all involved.
Pharrell Williams recently won four Grammys at the most recent award ceremony and they wer Record of the Year, Album of the Year, Best Pop Duo/Group Performance, and Producer of the Year/Non-Classical. Kendrick Lamar has a critically lauded rookie solo album good kid, m.A.A.d City. They join many long-time respected musicians to make one of the biggest events of the year for the NBA.
The weekend, which lasts from February 14-16 and ends with the East-West All-Star game that includes the Atlanta Hawks’ Paul Millsap, will be a must watch.
