Atlanta Hawks Release Dexter Pittman

The Atlanta Hawks released Dexter Pittman today announced President of Basketball Operations/General Manager Danny Ferry via an official news release.

Pittman signed a 10-day contract with Atlanta on February 22 to provide depth at the center position after Al Horford, Pero Antic and Gustavo Ayon all got injured, leaving only 34-year-old Elton Brand available. Pittman played just three combined minutes in two games for the Hawks.

The release of Pittman was expected to come as the Hawks had to make room for 2013 second-round draft pick Mike Muscala, who recently came over from Spain earlier this week.
