Mike Muscala Makes Debut For Atlanta Hawks

It didn’t take long for the Hawks to find use for their new big man, as Mike Muscala saw his first minutes in an NBA uniform in Sunday’s loss to the Phoenix Suns. Mike was one of the first off the bench for Atlanta and it didn’t take long for him to leave a mark in the game.

Muscala showed a lot of hustle out of the gate and impressed with his ability to run the floor. Mike did show a few instances of inexperience, with some teammates directing him on offense as well as a few miscues on defense among many from the entire team. Mike finished with four points on 2-6 shooting along with five rebounds and two blocks. All four of his points came from mid range, a testament to the range he has been known to showcase.

Mike saw 19 minutes in the loss, and should continue to see this amount of playing time until Pero Antic and Paul Millsap make their returns. Pero has begun practicing again and may return sometime this week. Mike Muscala and the Hawks will be at it again Wednesday night as they take on the Portland Trail Blazers.
