Hawks rookie point guard Dennis Schroder suffered a sprained left ankle in Atlanta’s 118-113 overtime victory against the Toronto Raptors on Tuesday and missed the rest of the game.
Schroder’s injury occurred in the fourth quarter with 8:20 remaining when he rolled his ankle while hustling back on defense. He did not return, not even in the overtime session.
Hawks beat writer for the AJC Chris Vivlamore reported after the game that coach “Budenholzer had no update on severity of Dennis Schroder’s ankle sprain.”
Hopefully we will get an update some time on Wednesday. The Hawks don’t play again until Friday so Schroder has a few days to recover if needed.
In other Hawks-related injury news, starting small forward DeMarre Carroll needed four stitches after getting hit with an elbow above his right eye in the first quarter. He returned in the second period with a bandage over the wound and finished the game with eight points and four rebounds in 38 minutes of action.
Check back for updates.
