Atlanta Hawks rookie point guard Dennis Schroder posted an update regarding his sprained left ankle on Twitter Wednesday evening saying “My ankle is Sore but The Doc’s Said its nothing Bad on it.”
Schroder’s injury occurred during the fourth quarter of last night’s 118-113 overtime win against the Raptors. He left the game with 8:20 remaining in regulation after he rolled his ankle when hustling back on defense to intercept an outlet pass, which would have led to an easy layup. He did not return, despite the game going into an overtime session.
Following the game, Hawks beat writer Chris Vivlamore of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported that coach “Budenholzer had no update on severity of Dennis Schroder’s ankle sprain.”
It’s evident by the rookie’s tweet that he visited with a doctor some time Wednesday, and it’s good news for the team and the fans that “The Doc’s Said its nothing Bad.”
The Hawks don’t play again until Friday when they host the Pelicans so Schroder has a few days to fully recover.
Check back for updates.
