Atlanta Hawks interim center Pero Antic traveled with the team to Washington and will most likely play and get the start Saturday night against the Wizards after missing the previous game with a sprained ankle.
Hawks beat writer Chris Vivlamore of the AJC reported there’s a ’95 percent’ likelihood Antic is good to go.
The 31-year-old rookie sprained his right ankle in Wednesday’s road game at Minnesota when he tripped over a coach after draining a 3-pointer with 2:29 left in the second quarter. He finished out the half and played the first six and a half minutes in the third period before coming out for the rest of the night.
Although the injury didn’t seem that severe since Pero continued to play, Vivlamore reported “Antic was in obvious pain following the game as he had trouble putting on a shoe,” However “he doesn’t expect to miss more than a game,” Viv added.
Apparently that seems to be the case as Antic missed Thursday’s home game against the Trail Blazers, but is just about guaranteed to play tonight at Washington.
