We got a treat a few hours before the announcement of the 2014-15 NBA regular season schedule, as it was reported that the Atlanta Hawks will host former franchise player Josh Smith and the Detroit Pistons on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.

The Hawks have a tradition of playing on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, and are currently riding a four-game winning streak when playing on the third Monday of January. Atlanta smacked the Miami Heat last year 121-114.
This will only be Smith’s third time back in Philips Arena, the place he called home for nine years, since leaving last summer as a free-agent to sign with Detroit. He lost in his first return to Atlanta last season and missed the second meeting, which the Pistons won, due to a left knee injury.
The full NBA schedule will be released later at 6:00 p.m. (ET) in a one-hour special on NBA TV.
