All things must come to an end. Though this ride ended in less than desirable terms, the fact remains that this has been quite the memorable season for the Atlanta Hawks, and especially for their fans.

Caught up in the revelry and excitement of the moment at Quicken Loans Arena, amongst the wave of yellow shirts and streamers, there stood in the upper deck one long, red Atlanta Hawks jersey. He congratulated the effort, the cumulative excellence of a mystical season, and held his head high amongst the hoopla that spilled out onto Bolivar and 6th.

That fan was me.

In a special finale of Hawks grades, I witnessed in person the Hawks’ last game of the season. It wasn’t a very pretty game, a 118-88 drubbing to seal a sweep for Cleveland, but it was one for the Hawks that contained all sorts of good things, bad things, regretful things, and things that made us think about how we enjoyed the season.

The curtain has closed on our seven month campaign but for the final time this year, here are tonight’s grades, coming straight from my hotel room.
