What did your favorite former Hawk do last night? Look no further than Ex-Hawk Watch, where all your stat-watching needs are fulfilled.
On any given night, there will be a number of players, formerly of the Atlanta Hawks, that now play for other teams. Keeping up with all of the familiar faces can be a hassle; until now. On December 3rd, 2016, ten of the thirteen active former Hawks played. Let’s jump right into the Ex-Hawk Watch:
Did Not Play:
Jamal Crawford (LAC plays IND 12/4/16)
Jeff Teague (IND plays LAC 12/4/16)
Marvin Williams (CHA; DNP- left knee bone bruise)
Ex-Hawk Watch: December 3rd, 2016
Demarre Carroll
10 points, 5 rebounds, 0 assists, 3 steals, 0 blocks in 26 minutes in a 128-84 win vs Hawks
Carroll helped to effectively embarrass his former team, and continue their losing ways. His three steals were a nice touch on his reunion.
Boris Diaw
4 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists, 0 steals, 0 blocks in 23 minutes in a 105-98 win vs Nuggets
Diaw’s small contributions helped the Jazz defeat a thirsty Nuggets team away from their Denver home.
Devin Harris
3 points, 3 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 steals, 0 blocks in 17 minutes in a 107-82 win vs Bulls
Harris led the Mavs off the bench with a season-high five assists. Playing against the Bulls, who defeated the Cavs last night, winning was an impressive feat.
Al Horford
11 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists, 0 steals, 1 block in 34 minutes in a 107-106 win vs 76ers
After his best game as a Celtic, Horford went back to his rebound-less style of play. His 11 points did help put the Celtics over the top of the 76ers, for what it’s worth.
John Jenkins
2 points, 0 rebounds, 1 assist, 0 steals, 0 blocks in 4 minutes in a 138-109 loss @ Golden State
John Jenkins played in an NBA game Saturday. In garbage time, he scored once on a 1-2 shooting performance, which will have his per-36 numbers through the roof.
Joe Johnson
7 points, 2 rebounds, 3 assists, 0 steals, 0 blocks in 17 minutes in a 105-98 win vs Nuggets
Johnson’s move into being a role player has been seamless with the Jazz. Johnson, Joe Ingles, and Gordon Hayward make up the best small forward rotation in the NBA.
Shelvin Mack
8 points, 1 rebound, 4 assists, 0 steals, 0 blocks in 26 minutes in a 105-98 win vs Nuggets
Mack’s contribution being filling in for George Hill helped the Jazz to a close win.
Zaza Pachulia
7 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist, 3 steals, 0 blocks in 15 minutes in a 138-109 win vs Suns
In games where Zaza Pachulia scores 7 points, grabs 3 rebounds, gets 3 steals, and has exactly one assist, the Warriors are 1-0.
Lou Williams
40 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 steals, 0 blocks in 32 minutes in a 103-100 loss @ Memphis
Lou Will scored the second-most points of his career, but it came in a loss. The Lakers, as fun as they are to watch, have injury troubles that have wasted a few great Lou Will performances.
Best Performance of the Night by a former Hawk
Lou Williams
Watching Lou Williams score points is fun, to say the least. His mid-range shiftiness, combined with an unstoppable long-range shot when he’s hot, makes him an exciting commodity. In fact, on NBA 2K17, his overall has been raised to an 80. For comparison, D’Angelo Russell is a 79 overall. This makes Lou Williams, former South Gwinett legend, the highest rated player on the Lakers currently. His status as a Laker Legend is now certified.
