On Peachtree Hoops, Dwight Howard gets a mention in Phil Naessen’s Ten Things About The NBA column for week 16. Howard has drawn 14 technical fouls this season. Could a suspension be on the horizon? Two more and a suspension will happen. Tim Hardaway Jr. also gets mentioned as a possible Most Improved Player of the Year in the NBA.

Projection systems weigh in with consensus on Atlanta Hawks

Also at Peachtree Hoops, Brad Rowland provides a roundup of various projection systems and their projections for the Hawks for the remainder of the season. TeamRankings, FiveThirtyEight, and NumberFire all have the Hawks finishing with a 45-37 record. That seems spot on, but given Atlanta’s tendency to swing wildly in one direction or the other, anything is possible.

Atlanta Hawks: A Crossroads at the Not-So Midway Point

At ATL All Day, W.M. Lawson writes on where the Hawks are at the midway point of their season. They’re in the middle of the playoff race, but don’t quite look like a contender. With 26 games left in the season what they’ll do to finish out is anyone’s guess.

Hawks’ first-half technical foul bill $67,000

Chris Vivlamore of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports on Atlanta’s technical total on the season. The Hawks have totaled 29 technical tallying $67,000 in fines. Dwight Howard leads the team with nine technicals, followed by Kent Bazemore with seven.

Hawks radio voice Holman to enter Atlanta Sports Hall of Fame

Vivlamore also reports on Hawks radio broadcaster Steve Holman entering the Atlanta Sports Hall of Fame. Holman has broadcast 2,385 consecutive games and is in the final stages of signing a new deal with the Hawks.
