Preview

On Saturday night, the Hawks traveled to Memphis and scored a dominant 17-point win over the Grizzlies.

That win was Atlanta’s third straight and was one of their best team performances of the season thus far. Five players scored in double figures, including Taurean Prince, who tallied a career-high 17 points.

Since their meeting on Saturday night, these two teams have gone in different directions.

The Grizzlies have won their last two games, against the Milwaukee Bucks and Chicago Bulls, and appear to be playing better basketball after being battered by the Hawks. The loss to the Hawks was the last of the team’s five-game losing streak before securing back-to-back wins this week.

The Hawks traveled to San Antonio on Monday night and were beaten soundly by Kawhi Leonard and the Spurs. But the team has gotten two days off since that game and should be charged up and ready to go when they come back home.

With a win, the Hawks could gain some serious momentum with a win over a playoff team and gain some ground on the fourth-seeded Toronto Raptors. Atlanta currently trails the Raptors by two games in the standings.
