Draymond Green has changed the game with his versatility.

Travis Schlenk is leaving his Assistant General Manager position with Golden State, to become the GM for the Atlanta Hawks. One of Schlenk’s most heralded moves during his twelve-year tenure with Golden State was drafting All-Star power forward Draymond Green in 2012.

Not including Anthony Davis, seven power forwards were selected before the undersized Green in the 2012 NBA Draft. Five years later, none of those seven power forwards have achieved as many accolades during their NBA careers as Draymond Green.

Since the 2012 draft, Green has made an All-NBA second team, All-NBA third team, NBA All-defensive first team, led the league in steals, and won two NBA championships.

The Hawks will have

a major decision to make in July

, when power forward

Paul Millsap

enters free agency. If Millsap departs Atlanta, his value to the Hawks will almost certainly be irreplaceable.

Millsap holds many of the same responsibilities for the Hawks, that Draymond Green does for the Warriors. On a nightly basis, both are asked to be disruptive and shut down a starter on defense, distribute the ball, and rebound.

The Warriors and Green reached a five-year, $85 million deal in 2015. Green isn’t eligible for free agency until 2020, but let’s dig in, and see what his impact on the Hawks would be as a replacement to Millsap.
