In the Atlanta Hawks third game of the preseason, let’s explore 4 players to keep an eye on in the game against the Miami Heat.

The Atlanta Hawks are currently winless across two preseason games, though the team is trending in the right direction after getting thoroughly blown out against the Pelicans in the team’s first game. Following that affair, the team upped the defensive intensity and barely lost to the Orlando Magic in the second game.

Now, Monday marks a date with the Miami Heat, who look far different from last year’s squad that missed the playoffs in Dwyane Wade’s farewell season. With Jimmy Butler as the team leader and a notable lottery pick among their ranks, the Heat will likely be looking to make some noise in the lower reaches of the Eastern Conference playoffs on the back of tenacious defense and clutch-time scoring of Jimmy Buckets.

Read on to explore 4 players to watch in the game.

Tyler Herro

When the Miami Heat took Tyler Herro at #13 overall in the 2019 NBA Draft, it was seen as something of stretch, though it was clear that Herro had plenty of confidence and a pure shooting stroke. Herro has looked good through preseason so far, so expect more of the same against the Hawks.

Charlie Brown

On the Atlanta Hawks’ side, two-way wing Charlie Brown has shown myriad flashes so far, and he looks like an NBA-ready option off the bench for the team in the first year of the Hawks having the College Park Skyhawks as their G-League squad.

Bam Adebayo

Bam Adebayo is going into his third season with the Miami Heat, and he continues to be an uber-athletic defensive monster with plenty of upside on offense as well. It will be interesting to see what Adebayo has added between his second and third seasons.

Brandon Goodwin

Last but not least, Brandon Goodwin is the Atlanta Hawks other two-way player, a second-year guard who played with the Nuggets last year. Goodwin played sparingly against the Magic, but he impressed with defensive intensity and some sound playmaking instincts.
