The NBA is a game of runs and in an 82 game season, wins and losses come in runs as well. The Atlanta Hawks have certainly put their six-game losing streak behind them and have answered it with a six-game winning streak.

The Hawks had the benfit of five-straight games at home which they won convincinly. They won on the back of their superstar point guard, the shooting of their wings and the strong play of their starting front court. However, the question remained, could they win on the road.

The Hawks possessed the worst road record in the Eastern Conference up until the San Antonio Spurs game, only going 1-8 in their previous nine away games. They still have the worst road record in the East but it is close to the Orlando Magic’s record which is 2-6.

The Atlanta Hawks depth helped them past the San Antonio Spurs

The Hawks had eight players end the game with double figures led by Trae Young with 31 points. He had a double-double with 31 points and 11 assists. He ws three rebounds shy of a triple double which showed his dominance over the game.

Clint Capela had yet another double-double with 11 points and 13 rebounds. He was on point defensively with five steals and three blocks. His frontcourt partner John Collins had 15 points to continue his strong scoring streak.

Bogdan Bogdanovic had 18 points, while Cam Reddish and Lou Williams had 12 apeice. Danilo Gallinari and Kevin Huerter rounded out the eight with ten points each. Every player who the Hawks need to contribute offensively did so.

This is the way that the Hawks are going to continue to improve their record. With so many players contributing, they become a very difficult team to stop. Their next game is against the Memphis Grizzlies who were recently beaten by the Minnesota Timberwolves by almost 50 points. Keep up this scoring and the Hawks should get two wins in a row on the road.
