Atlanta Hawks, Milwaukee Bucks Game 4 Preview

Tonight in Milwaukee we find out if we in fact have a series or not. No doubt the Hawks will have to get off to a better start and avoid the hay maker punch that Milwaukee will try to bring from the opening tip. To be successful on the road the Hawks need to approach things the same way they do at home. They are going to have to play in your face defense and they are going to have to be flying all over the court. For much of game three they looked like their feet were stuck in mud. Game three need to only be remembered as a place that we never want to visit again.

Al Horford and Josh Smith have to be established early. Even if the Bucks defend it well, the ball still needs to be entered into the post. Josh Smith in particular can cause havoc for the Bucks with his passing ability and it would be good to see their defense have to scramble. This will open up the perimeter for Joe Johnson and company. In game three the post was abandoned much too early. Secondly they have to attack the glass at both ends of the floor. The Bucks made the Hawks look small in game three and in games one and two it was the Hawks who held the distinct advantage inside.

Finally they can not allow the Bucks as many wide open looks. A hand has to be in the shooters face to at least give them something to think about. If the Bucks make ten three pointers again then we will be going back to Atlanta all tied up. If the Hawks can pick up the intensity on defense then it will lead to easy scoring opportunities and a 3-1 series lead.
