3. Do you like to see repeat competitors in this event or as many new faces as possible?

Menze: Unless you’re a legit sharpshooter like Stephen Curry or the aforementioned Kyle Korver and Klay Thompson, the only repeat competitors should be those who are defending their title. Otherwise get as many new faces as possible.

Donoho: I like to see stars. This is ultimately All-Star Weekend, which means stars rule the viewing public’s desires. If that means new faces or repeat competitors, so be it. Moments like Larry Bird not even taking off his warmups, and others are what have made this event great.

Morton: I want to see fresh faces take on maybe one or two of the league’s seasoned elite shooters. This is a great stage for rookies and sophomores to introduce themselves to the world.

Perry: New faces. Other than the defending champion and maybe one or two repeaters I think overhauling the field from one year to the next would be a good way to keep the contest fresh.

Blue: Having three or four competitors returning from previous years is fine. Giving a chance to younger players is important however, as the chance to get involved in all-star weekend is a great experience for any player.

Coverage of tonight’s festivities will be televised on TNT starting at 8 p.m. (ET) with the Three-Point Contest going down as the third event following the Skills Challenge and before the Slam Dunk Contest. Click here for the Three-Point Contest participants.
